You will have three appointments. The first appointment is conducted virtually with the Design Centre Coordinator. This acts as an introduction to the Design Centre process where you will review the Tamarack Options Catalogue. During this discussion you will learn about our standard and upgraded features in order to better prepare you for the second in-person appointment. During the second appointment you will be meeting with your Design Consultant to begin selecting interior finishes such as hardwood, tile, cabinetry, etc. Electrical changes may also be reviewed during the second appointment. The third and final appointment is a complete review of all your selections and a moment to go over the total cost of upgrades before everything is finalized and signed. This will follow a total timeframe of 45 days from your first meeting to your final review and sign off.
The first appointment is typically an hour long. The second appointment can take anywhere from two to three hours depending on the size of your home and how quickly decisions are made. The final appointment usually takes around two hours to review and approve all selections.
It is recommended you bring in resources for inspiration. This may range from images of items you love from your current home, or décor you want to design around, or a general idea of your budget. These references help your Design Consultant understand your style and guide you toward finishes that match your vision.
At the beginning of your in-person meeting, your consultant will discuss your budget and help you prioritize upgrades that offer the most value. We review costs as you make selections so you can see how each choice affects the total. If needed, we offer alternatives to help you achieve the look you want while staying within your preferred range.
We understand that selecting finishes is a major part of your home-building experience. However, construction timelines require that decisions be made promptly. If you need extra time, your consultant may schedule a short follow-up, but some items may need to be finalized immediately.
Absolutely. You are welcome to visit the Design Centre outside of scheduled appointment times to review finishes in person. Please contact your Design Consultant or Design Centre Coordinator if you wish to view your selections before finalizing. You may also find it helpful to visit model homes to see certain materials installed.
